Very well-written, interesting site, easy to follow! Thanks! I was born in 1942, in London. My sister was only 14 months older than me, and my father was away in the Navy. My mother had a terrible time - including being bombed out of our flat when I was aged one - and wrote a bit about it (we found it in a notebook when she died in 1984). We hear a lot about the camaraderie and so on (and maybe that's been hyped up), but not enough about the awfulness of surviving bombings and the noise, black-out, food queues and rationing, especially for the women left behind with small children. Keep going - I'll visit again. xx
